LINDSAY Gilbee has been named in the extended squad to take on North Melbourne on Sunday despite an ankle injury, but football manager James Fantasia admits it will be touch and go whether he plays or not.

"He's got a big question mark over him to be honest. We'll have another training run tomorrow and we'll just have to wait and see how that goes and how he feels after that," Fantasia said on Thursday.

"He was sore after Wednesday's mishap, but he didn't fully [roll his ankle]. He felt it start to go, but he pulled up. Those things can come good quickly sometimes, but it's still too early to tell.

"He's had the problem for a few weeks now and he sort of half did it again up in Darwin. When you roll your ankle you stretch the tendons, so if you do it again it can feel really sore, but the tendons can actually rejuvenate quicker.

"It's not great that he's half done it again at training, but it really is just a mater of waiting to see how it comes up after Friday's run."

Tim Callan, Sam Reid and Stephen Tiller are the three inclusions to the side that spanked Port Adelaide in Darwin a fortnight ago.

It certainly hasn't been plain sailing for the opposition, with Dean Laidley's departure from Arden St adding an extra air of unpredictability to the Roos' line-up that includes Brent Harvey.

"I don't think anything changes for us," Fantasia said.

"We've got a healthy respect for the Kangaroos and that's how we'll approach the game."

Fantasia said the players had made a concerted effort to re-focus on this weekend's match after taking advantage of the opportunity to rest up during the mid-season break.

Ayce Cordy sent a scare through the Dogs' camp last weekend when he landed heavily on his neck playing for Williamstown and was transported to hospital in a neck brace, but Fantasia was confident the youngster would be passed fit to play in the VFL this week.

"The way he was treated after the fall was as much a precaution as anything," he said.

"He got the all-clear from the medical team that night and then we just monitored him to see how the concussion was.

"He's likely to play for Williamstown. There's nothing that we had to get too concerned about in the end, which was lucky."
