WESTERN BULLDOGS coach Rodney Eade has ruled out recruiting soon-to-be departing Melbourne forward Russell Robertson to the Whitten Oval.

Eade was posed the question following his side's 14-point win over Geelong at Docklands on Friday night.

"I'll have a nice chat with Russell, but he won't be heading to the Bulldogs," Eade said of his fellow Tasmanian.

Robertson, who is set to play his final match for Melbourne in round 22 against St Kilda, spoke about his exit from the club at a media conference at the MCG on Thursday.

But he also revealed he wants to continue in the AFL in 2010, if another club wants his services.

The high-leaping Demon was almost lured to the Western Bulldogs a couple of years ago, but instead opted to remain with Melbourne.

Robertson kicked three goals during last round's win over Fremantle and has played 11 matches and kicked 23 goals this season, after suffering a serious achilles injury against St Kilda last year.

He has played 226 matches since making his debut in 1997 and is on target to finish with the third most goals in Melbourne's history.
