When Josh Prudden lined up against mentor Ryan Griffen in a boxing dual, it was fair to assume that the 18-year-old would come off second best, but the new recruit took it on the chin and kept persisting.

Slowly becoming accustomed to the full time demands of AFL football, the midfielder has been impressed with the number of coaches and support staff that are involved on a daily basis around the Club.

Prudden is looking forward to spending more time in the gym  - an area he has not had a lot of experience in.

“Gym wasn’t really a big thing back where I am from, we kind of just played footy,” Prudden said.

“It is good to get in there, [get] some different routines in there, some different exercises - which I can get back and do at home in the break.”

Part of his initiation to the Bulldog family included the Social Club event on Monday night, where he met some of the Club’s most loyal fans.

“That was really good seeing the die-hard fans out there and knowing there’s so many of them,” he said.

“It is going to be good playing in front of them one day.”
