The Bulldogs have applied to operate a new state-of-the-art accommodation and entertainment complex at Edgewater, Maribyrnong. Members views are vital and we hope all members will complete this special 3-minute survey on the Edgewater Club.
The LeasePlan Western Bulldogs have applied to operate a new state-of-the-art $25 Million accommodation and entertainment complex at Edgewater, Maribyrnong. Less than 3 kms away from the Whitten Oval, the Edgewater Club will be a wonderful addition to the area providing a wide range of services for members and supporters.
Whitten Oval, which is undergoing a massive transformation through the $26 Million Whitten Oval Redevelopment, will remain the Western Bulldogs spiritual home, training ground and administration headquarters.
The Edgewater Club development will boast:
· 59 rooms of accommodation (4 star)
· Conference and function facilities catering for up to 300 people
· Extensive a’ la carte restaurant
· Members Bar
· Cafe
· Alfresco dining
· Merchandising section
· Gaming lounge (with 70 gaming machines)
· Provision for 329 cars on site
· Fabulous uninterrupted views of Melbourne’s city skyline
The Edgewater Club will cater for a range of Western Bulldogs events including our popular Thursday night ‘Footy Show’, Match Day functions, live telecasts of Western Bulldogs games and much more.
In addition, the Club will be available for members’ birthday, wedding and anniversary celebrations.
From a business perspective, the Edgewater Club will provide for corporate conferences, company workshops and cocktail functions.
Director, Neil O’Keefe highlighted the Edgewater Club as one of the new breed of integrated, destination venues catering for business and the community. “The Edgewater Club is a first for the region and will establish new benchmarks in entertainment – only a small component of which is gaming”.
O’Keefe stated “as the Community Club of the AFL, the Western Bulldogs reliance on providing sustained community activities is reliant on the Edgewater Club development going ahead”
