Brian Lake appears set to continue his late season shift forward, named as a direct replacement for the injured Daniel Giansiracusa across half forward for Sunday’s season ending away clash against the Brisbane Lions.

A late withdrawal with foot soreness from last Sunday’s match against Geelong, Lake has been cleared to take the field in this weekend’s twilight encounter at the Gabba.

Proving a focal point up front for the Bulldogs in recent weeks, Lake’s return will provide some added height and physicality in the Dogs forward set-up according to Assistant Coach Shannon Grant.

“The only change at this stage has been Daniel Giansiracusa who will come out with a knee and Brian comes straight back into the side,” Grant said.

“As you can see a couple of bigs down there also complimented by the crafty small forwards that we have.”

Named on the extended interchange is pacey utility Patrick Veszpremi, versatile tall Fletcher Roberts and potential debutant Matt Panos.

Confident of the Dogs ability to match the Lions on their home ground, Grant said the side are looking to end Season 2012 on a positive note.

“Last game of the year we are certainly looking forward to seeing how the guys come out and play,” Grant said.

“We certainly feel like as though we have the side that can match them and hopefully come away with a win.”
