On Sunday 5th December, Werribee Central Tennis Club played host to the annual Werribee Multicultural Tennis Day.

On a rare, warm and sunny summer’s day, over 120 multicultural children and their parents were treated to an afternoon’s social Tennis provided by coaches from Werribee Central.

A BBQ, DJ and giveaways from the Western Bulldogs and Tennis Victoria contributed to creating a carnival atmosphere for all involved.

The event was organised by the Western Bulldogs in association with Tennis Victoria as part of both organisations desire to deliver quality engagement programs to the community.

The Western Bulldogs work closely with sporting associations and local clubs in Melbourne’s West to provide opportunities for migrant and refugee people to experience sports they generally would not have access to.

Matt Smith has been recently appointed Club Coach at Werribee Central, an up and coming Tennis Club in Melbourne’s West. As a follow up to the successful Multicultural Tennis Day, Matt is offering tennis lessons at Werribee Central next Sunday (19th December 2010) between 1pm and 2pm for those of multicultural background. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend at an expense of $2 per person.
