Season Overview:
After an impressive pre-season and more senior game time,
Mitch Wallis made significant gains on his debut year, finishing fifth in the Charles Sutton Medal and stamping himself as a key midfielder in 2012. Wallis’ season was recognised with a top three finish in the NAB Rising Star award.

By the Numbers:
Named amongst the best players in six of his 19 AFL appearances, Wallis’ jump in form is evident on the stats board. Averaging ten more disposals and almost four extra clearances per game, the Calder Cannons recruit looked more comfortable at the highest level this year.
Season Highlight:
Amassing a game-high ten clearances against North Melbourne in round 19 was not only a season highlight but a career highlight for young Wallis. Topping the Bulldogs best player for the day, Wallis finished with 25 disposals (13 contested possessions), six marks, three inside 50s and three one percenters.
Pre-Season Focus:
After solidifying his place in the starting line-up this year, Wallis will look to take another step forward in 2013. Continuing to build on his already impressive fitness base will be a priority as well as gaining some explosive power in the gym.
