The Western Bulldog faithful will have the opportunity to farewell former Bulldogs player, Barry Hall, at Etihad Stadium today during a special ‘Lap of Honour’ to celebrate the champion footballer and recent AFL Life Membership recipient.

Hall, who played 289 games during his 15 year career, came to the Dogs in late 2009 after debuting for St Kilda in 1996 and time at the Sydney Swans.

In his illustrious career, Hall has received a number of player honours including All Australian Selection (2004, 2005, 2006, 2010), International Rules Series (2003, 2006 - co-captain), and was also a part of Sydney’s 2005 Premiership squad and the Bulldogs Pre-season Premiership team in 2010.

Hall, a two - time Coleman Medal runner up and multiple top club goal kicker - retired last year on 746 career goals.

A revered character in football ranks, Hall has said he will hold fond memories of his time at the Kennel and has thanked the Club for having faith in recruiting him after a controversial year at the Swans.

“I am incredibly grateful for my time at the Bulldogs and want to thank the Club, my team mates and all of the Dog’s supporters for the opportunity to wear the red white and blue,” Hall said.

“It’s been a real privilege to play for the Bulldogs and there is no doubt that I will have some great memories of my time here at Whitten Oval”.
