Season Overview:
The All Australian defender Lindsay Gilbee played four games for the season before announcing his retirement. While injuries hampered his ability to find form and break into the senior squad, he was still a valuable contributor when out on the field. He also played out five games with VFL affiliate Williamstown, providing guidance to a number of the Dogs emerging players. Highly respected around Whitten Oval, the Club joker called time in his 13th season at the Bulldogs.

By the Numbers:
While not reaching the same heights as in his prime, Gilbee still notched up some solid numbers this season. He was finding more of the ball than last season with three more touches on average per game. He also averaged more marks (+1) and rebound 50s (+0.5) on last year. His disposal efficiency remained top notch, ranked tenth at the Bulldogs this season at 78%. Gilbee was also equal seventh in average marks, fifth in average rebound 50s, tenth in average disposals and eighth in average kicks at the Club.

Season Highlight:
Making the most of his call up to the seniors, Gilbee made an impact from his first game against Fremantle in round 15. With a season high 22 disposals the veteran was influential at both ends of the field. He created run with four rebound 50s for the day but also had an impact in the forward line with two goal assists. He finished with eight marks and five one per centers.
