Season Overview:
The emergence of Tom Liberatore through the midfield in just his second year has confirmed he is one to watch. Contributing around the stoppages as one of the Bulldogs leading clearance winners, the 20 year old solidified his place in the starting line-up and took on added responsibility with ease. Continuing to build on his breakout debut season last year, the 2010 father - son selection looks to be an integral member in the Dogs future line-up.

By the Numbers:
Ranked 15th in the league in average clearances, he is the only second year player to make the top 30 in the statistic - and one of only five players in the top 30 with four years’ experience or less. He also found a career best 29 disposals, nine marks, 17 kicks and an equal record two goals. Liberatore had nine or more clearances on four occasions, five or more inside 50s on six occasions and five or more tackles on five occasions.

Season Highlight:
While not renowned as a goal kicker a two goal haul against Essendon in round 14 marked Liberatore’s best game for the season. With 24 disposals at 79% disposal efficiency the young pup was effective both around the stoppages as well as forward of centre with six marks, seven clearances, five inside 50s and three tackles.

Pre-Season Focus:
Liberatore has proven he has the talent to mix with the big boys but now it is a matter of increasing consistency and ensuring he has the fitness base to run out the full season. After two successful seasons he is likely to gain more attention next year from opposition players so continuing to build on his endurance and add a bit more weight should help him compete.
