The Western Bulldogs Community Festival and Family Day will again host some of the most exciting and talented performers that the community has to offer. This event aims to embrace the entire community, bring together the passion of the AFL with the diversity of the Western Suburbs and with this year’s entertainment line up added to the mix, the event is not to be missed.

Back by popular demand this year, is the highly acclaimed Victoria Police Band, Code One. Code One is successful in reinforcing safety messages to the community through the universal language of music. The band plays pop music from the early 50s through to the latest 'Top 40'.  Everything from Santana to Farnham, ABBA to Simple Plan, Kylie to Madonna. Code One is 'on patrol' and ready for action.

Another exciting addition to the festival is Ethiopian ensemble Afro Habesha. Performing Ethiopian traditional and contemporary music and dance, Afro Habesha is soulful, vibrant and aurally and visually beautiful. The group is fronted by vocalist and dancer Seble Girma, combining with some of Melbourne’s finest instrumentalists, including the cream of Ethiopian-Australian artists. Traditional Ethiopian instruments feature alongside a blistering horn section and modern rhythm section that ‘rocks’, giving voice to the rhythmically infectious grooves unique to Ethiopian music and culture. Check out some of their music and videos at www.afrohabesha.com

So make sure you get along to Whitten Oval on Sunday the 27th of February between 10am and 2pm and join us in our celebration of community spirit, meet the boys and enjoy some great entertainment.

Entry by gold coin donation.
