In the lead up to our first home game tomorrow, members are signing up thick and fast to propel us towards our goal of 38, 000 Western Bulldogs members by season's end. And to mark our 28,000th member, tough nut Barry Hall yesterday took time out to present lucky Mel Kays with a special number 28 guernsey.
On the field, Barry and his goal-kicking prowess are an essential component of the team's success. Off the field, it's our members, like Mrs Kays, that make all the difference, boosting our players and club to even greater heights.
Mrs Kays dropped in to Whitten Oval yesterday to buy four memberships for her young grandchildren, continuing her family's long-standing association with the Club. Mrs Kays revealed both her father and brother, Alex Gardiner, played for the Club - her dad in the 1920's and then her brother from 1955-61, he was even on the wing during the 1961 Grand Final.
There's never been a better time than now to join Mrs Kays and her grandkids to show your passion for the Club. Back the boys as they fight for the 2011 Premiership by signing up for your membership today. With so many positive things happening at the Club, you too can proudly show everyone your true colours: Red, White and Blue.
This weekend, there's lots on offer for Bulldogs fans. Help us celebrate with the launch of the all new Footscray End - the mighty makeover set to intimidate our competition and celebrate our heritage and our future. Pay tribute to club champions Brad Johnson and Nathan Eagleton during their lap of honour (commencing at 12.30pm). And for the pups, we've got the Kidz Zone complete with Woofer and a host of fun activities.
So get down to Etihad Stadium on Sunday, get to Gate 7 for all the action, get involved and get your membership today! It's the way we can all show the competition just how serious we are about winning the flag.
Get your 2011 Membership at the game on Sunday at one of the Membership marquees located at Gate 7, 5 or on the Bourke Street Footbridge.
Go Dogs!
