Western Bulldogs skipper Matthew Boyd has made an impassioned plea for teammate Will Minson to be named the All Australian ruckman.
Speaking on SEN 1116 on Thursday, Boyd spoke glowingly of Minson carrying the club's ruck burden on his own pretty much for the entire season.
"He's had an unbelievable year and really, he's done it one out for almost the entire season," Boyd said.
"I just can’t speak highly enough of Will. Just not his character but what he has given us on the field has been unbelievable."
Minson leads the AFL in total hit-outs (776) and average hit-outs (38.8).
Boyd also said that Jarrad Grant's improved form was a tribute to the player and his coach.
"Teammates always have faith in the guys around them and we would encourage him and want him to show his talent.
"(But) the person apart from Jarrad who should take the credit for his form is Brendan McCartney who had faith in him and worked him really hard.
"He has given him the foundation in terms of the basics of the game and 'Macca' had enormous faith in him," he said.
