Multicultural Round Activities

Multicultural Round provides the Western Bulldogs with a platform to showcase the various programs the club conducts throughout Melbourne’s Western Region and allows us the opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity in Australia.

As part of the Western Bulldogs Multicultural Round clash with Essendon:

  • Representatives from the Clubs Building Community Resilience Program will compete in a curtain raiser.
  • Students from the Bulldogs Friendly Schools Program will compete in AFL Auskick grid games at half time.
  • Over 200 international students from Victoria University will watch their first ever Australian Rules Football Match in the Bulldogs backyard
  • Over 400 people from diverse multicultural backgrounds including refugees and migrants to experience their first ever Australian Rules Football Match in the Bulldogs backyard
  • Multicultural entertainers performing on the Etihad Stadium concourse
  • Footscray based hip-hop group Diafrix playing pre match, the pre match curtain raiser

EJ Whitten Cup

This week we will be playing for the EJ Whitten Cup, named in honour of club legend Ted Whitten, with the winner receiving the Cup at the post match presentation on the field after the game. EJ Whitten Foundation pins will be on sale on the Etihad Stadium concourse to help raise awareness funds for those affected by prostate cancer.
