Adam Cooney headlines four inclusions to the Western Bulldogs 25-man squad set to take on Melbourne this Sunday.

The 200-gamer will be  a welcome addition after being a late withdrawal from last weekend’s game against Brisbane with illness.

Cooney joins Nathan Hrovat, Michael Talia and Liam Jones in the Dogs' named squad,  with the trio forcing their way back into the selection mix after strong showings for VFL-affliate Williamstown in recent weeks.

Jones has been building form in the VFL over the past fortnight, kicking nine goals in his past two matches, including a game high six majors last Saturday.

2012 draftee Hrovat has been influential rotating between the midfield and a high half forward role for the Seagulls, including a two goal haul on Saturday.

Talia’s dour defensive work also sees him named on the extended bench for the Bulldogs clash against Melbourne.

Assistant Coach Steven King says Sunday’s game will be important for the Club, set to celebrate milestone matches for forwards Daniel Giansiracusa and Luke Dahlhaus.

“It’s Daniel Giansiracusa’s 250th game this week which is a fantastic effort which is one the whole Club is really proud of,” King said.

“It is Lukey Dahlhaus’ 50th game this week as well, so great effort from Lukey to get to his first 50.”

The round 23 clash also marks the final game of Daniel Cross in Bulldogs colours, with King encouraging all members and fans to get to Etihad Stadium to farewell the veteran midfielder.

"There's enough reasons there for the boys to make sure we get the job done and send all those guys out either on a winning note or make sure they have a day they remember."
