The Western Bulldogs today announced Daniel Giansiracusa will continue playing with the Club in 2014.

In further news the Dogs veteran will continue his career at the Kennel off the field in 2015 in a coaching role.

An experienced figure amongst the Dogs, Giansiracusa will continue his important on and off field mentoring and leadership role in 2014 particularly with the younger members of the playing group.  

On the verge of his 250th game for the Club, Giansiracusa leads the Bulldogs' goal kicking this season with 34 from 19 games, including a season high four goals against North Melbourne in round seven.

List Manager Jason McCartney said the 31-year-old’s experience at the game’s elite level will be an invaluable asset to the Club’s developing list.

“On top of an impressive season where he leads the club in goal kicking, Daniel has been a great leader and mentor to our developing group.

“Daniel's experience and astute football knowledge make him a respected member of our football club and we look forward to seeing him continue to contribute both on and off the field into the future.”

Giansiracusa was drafted to the Bulldogs from the Western Jets with the Club’s second selection (pick 32) in the 1999 AFL National Draft, and debuted in round 11 of 2001 against Adelaide.

Giansiracusa will play his 250th match for the Bulldogs on Sunday against Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
