Liam Jones has been handed a two week suspension from the Match Review Panel, after he collided with Melbourne’s Dean Terlich in the Western Bulldogs win on Saturday.
The AFL announced on Monday afternoon that Jones had been charged with the level three engaging in rough conduct offence (325 demerit points and a three match sanction) — with an early plea Jones can reduce the sanction by 25 per cent to two weeks (243.75 demerit points).
The incident occurred in the third quarter against Melbourne in round eight and was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), high impact (three points) and high contact (two points).
