Shaun Higgins came off the field late against North Melbourne in the Bulldogs 50 point loss on Sunday but Medical Services Manager said the defender has recovered well today.
“Shaun got the knock to his head late in the game and we were concerned about some concussion signs,” McKenzie said.
“He was kept off for the remainder of the game and he settled down post game and he has come in well today.
“We will have to test him throughout the week but we expect that he will be okay to train this week.”

Roughead was also assessed for a concussion during the Bulldogs loss to North Melbourne, but was deemed okay to return to the field and is expected to be available this weekend.
“Roughead was another that we had some concerns with at some point in the game regarding concussion,” he said.
“He was taken off and assessed by the doctors, he passed the concussion test so he was cleared to return back to the field and he has been fine since then.”
Soreness kept young Bulldogs Nathan Hrovat and late withdrawal Jackson Macrae on the sidelines on Sunday but McKenzie said both are expected to re-join training this week.
“Nathan pulled up tight throughout the training sessions, we took the conservative approach and decided we would keep him out with a calf but he has settled down really well,” he said.
“We expect he will be back in the group this week – we will have to monitor him throughout the week.
“Jacko in a similar sense pulled up sore after the training run, we had to be careful about where he was at but we expect him to be in full training this week.”
