WESTERN Bulldogs defender Dale Morris is set to miss Sunday's clash with Carlton after being offered a one-match suspension for tripping Greater Western Sydney midfielder Will Hoskin-Elliott.
But match-day striking reports against Sydney Swans superstar Lance Franklin and Carlton ruckman Robert Warnock have been thrown out by the Match Review Panel.
The AFL announced on Monday afternoon that the MRP had charged Morris with a level-three tripping offence (225 demerit points, two-match suspension) for tripping Hoskin-Elliott during the first quarter of the Bulldogs' win at Startrack Oval on Saturday.
But Morris has a six-year good record at the Tribunal so can accept a one-match sanction if he enters an early guilty plea.
The incident occurred when Morris was trailing his opponent Giant Jeremy Cameron as he led for the ball. When an incoming pass fell short, Hoskin-Elliott burst in from the opposite direction to win the ball, prompting Morris to stick out his left leg and catch him low on his left leg.
Both players were hurt in the clash and were substituted from the game early in the second quarter.
Franklin is now free to play in the Swans' crucial clash with Fremantle this Saturday after the MRP found the high contact he made with North Melbourne defender Scott Thompson in the last quarter of Sunday's clash was not a striking action and was below the force required to constitute a reportable offence.
Warnock was charged with striking Melbourne's Jake Spencer in the third quarter of the Blues' disappointing loss on Saturday.
The MRP found that the force used by Warnock was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.
