The ability to play multiple positions on the ground has been an increasingly valuable tool in the modern game, and the young Bulldogs are taking notice.
Entering his fourth season at the kennel, Luke Dahlhaus has become an asset in the Bulldogs forward line but the 21-year-old also expects to push into the midfield more frequently this year.
“I think I’ll be playing mainly forward but as I’ve been getting my fitness up and trying to get better at that I think I can have a few more stints in the midfield,” he told 6PR radio.
“Whether that’s on the wing or inside, I’m not sure.”
Fellow teammate Daniel Giansiracusa has been a mentor and inspiration for Dahlhaus throughout his career and the pacey young pup will continue to draw on his advice in 2014.
“Ever since I’ve got there it’s been Giansiracusa, he’s been amazing for me and he’s a legend of the Club,” he said.
“He’s taught me so much over the years and [I’m] very thankful for that.”
Travelling to Perth to take on West Coast this Sunday, Dahlhaus said facing the Eagles on their home turf is always a demanding task.
“We know they are a great team and they have been in great form … like I said it’s going to be a tough task,” he said.
“They are a good pressure team and they are very good over there, so we will have to wait and see how we go.”
