The GWS Giants have taken another step forward this year and Senior Coach Leon Cameron is eager for his side to finish the season on a high.
Cameron is not discounting his opposition, however, acknowledging the Bulldogs’ added motivation of sending Daniel Giansiracusa off on a good note.
“We are coming up against a very hungry Bulldogs side, it’s no doubt they are going to be up for the game in honouring a club favourite in Daniel Giansiracusa,” Cameron said.
“It’s going to be really, really tough but we feel as though that with the ground that we have made, particularly in the back half of the year, we are going in looking forward to hopefully breaking our duck at Etihad Stadium.”
Five wins make 2014 the Giants’ most successful season to date, while their competitiveness has increased tenfold having lost a further four games by less than two goals this year.
The Giants are yet to win at Etihad Stadium after nine appearances at the venue however, but will give themselves a chance against a similarly ranked side.
“We played some really good positive footy there last year, a couple of early games, and so we are looking forward to it 4:40 on Sunday afternoon – the boys are looking forward to finishing off on a really good note,” he said.
