The significance of a banner message is seldom lost on the Bulldogs playing group as they run for every game, and last week a group of players joined students from Maribyrnong Secondary College in creating a banner that holds more meaning than most.
Throwing the Club's support behind the school’s strong stance against bullying; Shaun Higgins, Sam Darley, Jordan Roughead, Jack Macrae and Tom Liberatore worked alongside student leaders to construct a banner articulating the firm sentiment.
With the slogan ‘In the west no bullying is best’ emblazoned across the banner, the message was a strong gesture of the college’s recent movement to reduce abuse and violence in all its forms among the student population.
Student leaders later ran through the banner at a school assembly in a symbolic gesture of the school’s commitment to the policy.
The Western Bulldogs playing group makes regular school visits across Melbourne’s west, promoting social inclusion, physical and mental health amongst a host of important social issues.
