Western Bulldogs AFLW midfielder Daria Bannister will miss the remainder of the 2018 season after scans today confirmed a ruptured ACL.
Bannister injured her left knee during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 26-point victory over Fremantle at Victoria University Whitten Oval.
Playing her first AFLW match on Sunday, Bannister showed plenty of promise within the midfield and forward line.
“Daria played a really integral role this Sunday,” said AFLW coach Paul Groves.
“She was really influential in the forward line and solidified herself as a fast moving, small forward which was really pleasing to see.
“We’ll do everything we can to help Daria through her recovery.”
The Western Bulldogs selected Daria Bannister with their fourth selection at overall pick 19 at the 2017 NAB AFLW Draft.
