WESTERN Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade says it's not too late for the club's supporters to climb aboard the Dogs' bandwagon and become members for the 2009 season.

The club's membership figures are lagging behind last year's, with around 6500 members from last season yet to recommit to the cause.

At the end of June last year the Dogs had a total of 28,306 game day members on their books. As of the second week in May this year they had just 26,619.

Eade said while the club understood the financial crisis had hit society hard, the Dogs remain an investment worth making after they turned their form around in round seven.

"We really need those people from last year to sign up," Eade said ahead of the Dogs' clash with Melbourne.

"I know these are tough times for everyone but we need them to hang in there and show some faith with us.

"If we can get half of them to re-sign, it's going to help us an awful lot."

The Bulldogs are aiming to surpass their total 2008 figure of 29,195 by the seasons' end.
