The Western Bulldogs in partnership with City of Ballarat invite participants to register for the inaugural Western Bulldogs Ballarat Hackathon. The event, which will run from the 24th to the 26th of February at the Ballarat Library, represents one of a number of initiatives implemented by the Bulldogs in ensuring the Club remains at the forefront of innovation.
Hackathons are collaborative events consisting of groups of participants originating from a range of data-related disciplines coming together to solve challenges or work on software projects. Teams at the event will have the opportunity to work on three challenges; one of these will focus on player tracking & tactical analysis whilst another will relate to the Bulldogs’ first ever match to be played for premiership points in Ballarat, which will take place on August 19th against Port Adelaide.
“The club sees this as a great opportunity to invite a variety of talented individuals from around the country to address a few of the current key challenges faced by high performance sporting organisations”, WB Head of Research and Innovation, Dr Sam Robertson said.
“We’re very much looking forward to seeing what the teams produce in this challenging yet exciting environment.”
Participants can register for the event at HERE, whilst further information can be obtained by contacting Sam Robertson on sam.robertson@westernbulldogs.com.au or Matt Swards on matthew.swards@ballarat.vic.gov.au
