The Western Bulldogs’ youth leadership program, The Whitten Project continues to go from strength to strength, breaking a record set the previous year, with 275 young people nominating to be part of the hugely successful program in 2016.
Now entering its fourth year, the program saw a 75% increase from 2015 to 2016 and an impressive 240% increase from 2013 when 81 people nominated.
Whitten Project Manager Mark De Campo said that the increase in nominations reflected the quality of the program and the impact it has on participants.
“The workshops are unique, interactive and challenging but most of all, they’re fun, De Campo said.
“There’s no experience like it, and we’re excited to have so many young people who are eager to get involved.”
The 2016 program will be delivered between April and September and consists of up 20 information sessions/ workshops designed to inspire and educate the next generation of community leaders.
The program has expanded into Ballarat for 2016 and Bulldogs stars Easton Wood, Marcus Bontempelli, Tom Boyd, Josh Dunkley have joined Jordan Roughead as program ambassadors.
