Season in short:

A milestone victory has been a rare occurrence in recent years for the Bulldogs, but Easton Wood celebrated his 50th game in the heart-stopping two-point win over Richmond in round three.

In his sixth year of senior football, 2014 was Wood’s best so far, finding his niche as a versatile defensive option – playing tall, stopping smalls, capitalising on his athleticism as an attacking back.

While a broken hand shortened his season, Wood managed 18 of the Dogs’ first 19 games of the year, averaging 15 disposals from his defensive post.

With an emerging playing group, 25-year old Wood represents a rare commodity in the Bulldogs’ list profile, sitting in a thin middle band of players, bookended by the veterans and recent draftees.

The stat that mattered:

After six years of AFL football, Wood reached his 50-game milestone in 2014.

What they said:

“Easton hasn’t had a lot of luck with injury in the early part of his career, but showed some durability and promise this season.

“We were particularly encouraged with how Easton thrived with some additional on-field responsibility, and we look forward to that continuing next season.” - Bulldogs List Manager, Jason McCartney.
