THE AFL will return to announcing the No.1 draft pick first at this year's NAB AFL Draft to be held at the Gold Coast later this month.
The League has announced that clubs will name players in order from selection one through to pick 10 and no lockdown would be required before the draft.

Since 2009, the live television coverage has begun with the No.10 draft pick being announced first to start a countdown to the eventual No.1 pick.
This had meant the first 10 selections had to take place in lockdown mode before being revealed in reverse order on television.
Under that format, each of the top 10 picks were presented on stage before the draft resumed with pick No.11.
However, that format has been abandoned as the AFL returns to the traditional form.
This year's draft will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on November 22.
Greater Western Sydney has the first three picks, with Melbourne at selection No.4. The Western Bulldogs have picks No.5 and No.6 while Port Adelaide, the Brisbane Lions, Richmond and Essendon fill out the remaining selections in the top 10.
Essendon has already allocated pick No.10 to its father-son choice Joe Daniher.
Dandenong Stingrays' Lachie Whitfield is favoured to be the No.1 selection at this year's draft.
