The son of a Hawthorn legend, Paul Hudson arrived at the Western Bulldogs in 1997.
A premiership player in 1991, Hudson’s 1996 season at the Hawks was down on previous years and he was subsequently omitted in an elimination final against Sydney.
Hudson departed Hawthorn after 134 games and was selected by the Bulldogs with pick two in the 1997 pre-season draft, arriving alongside Hawks’ team-mate and cousin Simon Minton-Connell.

It was a move that rekindled Hudson’s best form, and earned him All-Australian selection two years later.
After kicking just 27 goals in his first year at Whitten Oval, Hudson booted 112 combined over the 1998 and 1999 seasons, leading the Bulldogs’ goalkicking tally in both years.
Ahead of the 2002 season, Hudson was on the move again, this time to Richmond. He played three games for the Tigers before announcing his retirement.
