The Western Bulldogs have made two changes ahead of the historic round four clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Friday afternoon
Clay Smith and Josh Dunkley have been named, while Liam Picken has recovered from a concussion and has been selected for the inaugural Good Friday fixture.
Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge said that both Smith and Dunkley had been ’knocking on the door’ at VFL level, and will come into the side fresh after Footscray had the weekend off ahead of their season opener on Friday morning at Victoria University Whitten Oval.
Caleb Daniel and Shane Biggs have been omitted from the side.
Tom Campbell has been named in the ruck and is expected to share on-ball duties with Tom Boyd; Beveridge backing his big men to combat the size of the taller Kangaroos.
‘’[Pruest] has been quite impressive and we know how good of a player Todd Goldstein’s been over the years, he said.
“So it's a challenge for our big fellas, the two Toms, and we'll be asking them to be at their absolute best."
“That physical battle in there is really important.”
Travis Cloke has been named at centre-half-forward and will play his 250th AFL game.
