Dale Morris is expected to return to football in the weeks following the Club’s bye in round 11.
Morris injured his pectoral in the Dogs’ round three loss to Hawthorn in Tasmania and has missed five games since.
Bulldogs General Manager of Football Graham Lowe says Morris has moved through his rehab well, and could be available for selection following the bye week.
“Dale is looking to return post the bye.
“He’s still got a bit more work to do to finalise his rehab but he’s certainly progressing really well and ticking all the boxes he needs to.”
Morris returned from surgery only days after suffering the injury and has been able to maintain a level of fitness, to prepare him for his return.
“I was back into the Club by Wednesday and started ticking my legs over on a bike just to keep my legs moving,” Morris told ABC Far North Queensland.
“By the middle of the next week, I was running again… They get you out there moving again, so there’s not much muscle wastage.
“My legs are fine, so I’ll be fit by the time the eight to ten weeks comes up.”
On a recent trip to Queensland to promote the Club’s round 15 match against the Gold Coast in Cairns, Morris said he was looking forward to returning to the field.
“I’m not the best spectator going around, I was screaming at the TV yesterday (against Melbourne) but it couldn’t help the boys.
“I’d much rather be out there.”
Although standing on the sidelines for the last five weeks, Morris said he’d been pleased with his side’s progress over the start of the season.
“We’ve jumped out of the blocks early and got a couple of wins, a couple of big wins.”
