The Bulldogs got Luke Beveridge’s tenure as senior coach off to a dream start, with a ten-point victory over eventual grand finalists West Coast.

Winning the tackle count 94-76 the Bulldogs showed an exciting glimpse of what was to come in season 2015.

Matthew Boyd and Jack Macrae both collected 30-plus disposals, while Jake Stringer was dangerous with three goals.

“It’s a positive vibe, so I couldn’t be happier for everyone at the club. Our administration, our board – everyone’s gone through a really tough period.

“So if we can win some games early and give our fans a little bit of hope and there’s a bit of light there, that’s really crucial for us at the moment.”

The win did give the Bulldogs faithful hope, and give the side momentum, winning four of their first five matches.
