Western Bulldogs midfielder Mitch Wallis has finished on top of the Club’s leader board for the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award.

After a consistent season, where he averaged 23 disposals and four tackles, Wallis finished with 46 votes, three ahead of Marcus Bontempelli and Jake Stringer.

Bontempelli polled the final votes of the season, picking up six votes against Brisbane, the only Dog to collect votes in round 23.

Skipper Bob Murphy and fellow defender Easton Wood rounded out the Club’s top five.

Sydney’s Dan Hannebery took out the award after overtaking Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe by one vote in the final round.
