Warnie from The Traders, AFL.com.au’s NAB AFL Fantasy experts, will be taking a look at the Bulldogs each week exclusive to westernbulldogs.com.au.
LAST WEEK
The Saints overran the Dogs in the last quarter and took the chocolates in the Fantasy points, scoring 1702 to 1360.
St Kilda’s David Armitage (144) and Jack Steven (142) led all scorers, however Liam Picken (112) is fast becoming a must-have defender.
Breaking the shackles of being a tagger and given the licence to accumulate disposals while playing on the ball, Picken finished with 28 touches and two goals adding $38K to his price this week. A total of $70K overall thanks to his three round average of 125.
Ayce Cordy played his best fantasy game to date with 91 points as he laid six tackles while battling hard in the ruck.
Popular FWD/MIDs Marcus Bontempelli (66) and Luke Dahlhaus (64) had relatively quiet days.
TOP 5 SCORERS V ST KILDA
- 112 – Liam Picken (DEF, $485,000)
- 95 – Easton Wood (DEF, $378,000)
- 91 – Ayce Cordy (RUC/FWD, $178,000)
- 90 – Jack Mcrae (MID, $527,000)
- 90 – Tory Dickson (FWD, $345,000)
ON THE RADAR
If you were among the 14% of coaches who started with Tom Boyd, it’s time to take the $66K that he has made and run. His breakeven has increased to 47 which is just shy over what he is averaging so far this year. Aim to upgrade him.
Mitch Honeychurch has a week or two left him in before milking the cash cow he has been. He has increased $109K and his breakeven is at an achievable 41.
WHAT’S COMING UP
This weekend the Bulldogs take on the undefeated Dockers at Etihad Stadium.
Hopefully newly named defender Matthew Boyd returns to join Robert Murphy down back. The skipper was one of the top scorers last time the two sides met in round 11 last year with 121.
Boyd (102), Jack Macrae (95) and Luke Dahlhaus (87) are the players projected to score the most on the weekend.
