Despite being tactically subbed out in the fourth quarter, Bontempelli earned seven votes for his impactful 22 disposals, eight clearances and four goal assists.
James Harmes and Tom Liberatore were next best, each polling five votes.
Harmes booted four goals from while Liberatore finished with 28 touches, five clearances and four tackles.
Tim English and Ed Richards were recognised with four votes each, Joel Freijah polled three and Matt Kennedy received two.
The vice-captain remains the highest-polling Bulldog after seven games with 25 votes.
Collingwood duo Nick Daicos and Steele Sidebottom share the overall lead with 34 votes each.
