Western Bulldogs midfielder Marcus Bontempelli has been rewarded for his near-perfect game with a perfect ten in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.
Bontempelli picked up a maximum five votes from both Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge and Suns coach Rodney Eade, after collecting 28 disposals, seven marks, seven tackles and two goals.
Beveridge said the influence of all of the Club’s young midfielders had a big impact on the game.
“Our mids after quarter time were generally pretty good… As the night went on we got on top in there.
“Some of our young players had a real influence as the game went on, it was great to see Marcus come home like he did.”
Liam Picken picked up seven votes after a 36-disposal game where he amassed nine tackles, and continued his consistent form, taking his tally to 27.
Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy stays at the top of the leader board on 32 votes, with Easton Wood and Picken in second place on 27 votes.
Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe continues to lead the voting on 100, with Sydney’s Dan Hannebery in second place on 75 votes after picking up six votes in round 15.
