Western Bulldogs rookie Luke Goetz is the final piece in the player number puzzle for 2016.
The 202-centimetre ruckman will wear the number 40 in 2016, after being recruited to the Dogs in last week’s rookie draft.
Goetz is a local western suburbs boy, who played his junior football with the Western Jets.
Although still developing his craft, Goetz has showed significant highlights in the last 12 months – particularly during testing with the Club earlier this year.
“His running was outstanding, a good mix of speed and endurance and he’s a really strong character,” Bulldogs National Recruiting Manager Simon Dalrymple said following the draft.
“We think he’s going to take some time as most ruckman do but he’s got some really solid fundamentals as a long-term ruckman.”
Goetz is yet to join the playing group for training, due to being overseas on a school trip in Cambodia, and will join the Club officially next week.
