What is it with Koby Stevens and the Queensland teams?
Stevens equalled his career-high in disposals last night against the Suns, the second time he’s done it this season, the first time being in round five against Brisbane.
But that’s not all.
His five marks and two goals were season-highs, while his high water mark for handballs (23) came against Brisbane in round five.
But Stevens, talking to westernbulldogs.com.au in the rooms after the match said that he’s just happy to be playing after battling injury at various points throughout the season.
"It’s just good to be back out there," he said.
“I’ve had five weeks off with injury, so I was hurting a bit out tonight, it was pretty hot out there.
“It’s just good to be back out the with the boys.”
While the Bulldogs would eventually run out 48-point winners at a humid Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns, Stevens said there was still room for improvement in the Dogs' game.
“We started really well, we had an emphasis on the hunt, to get them in the midfield and we were really good.
"[But] we probably just dropped off around the ball; we were probably second to the footy.
“We’re a bit upset with that, but overall a good performance.”
The Bulldogs return home to Etihad Stadium on Saturday night to face St.Kilda.
Queensland bully
For some reason Koby Stevens finds a bit extra when he faces the teams from the North.
