THE UNIFORMS for the AFL's newest competition have been revealed at an event in Kensington on Thursday morning, with Bulldogs women's team players Katie Brennan, Aasta O'Connor and Brooke Lochland on hand amongst a bevy of AFLW stars from all eight clubs.

AFL Women’s will kick off next year with a seven-match (plus Grand Final) season.

The uniforms, supplied by Australian company Cotton On Group, were unveiled along with a new pay structure for the players.

The Cotton On Group’s partnership with the AFL will be brought to life through its high-performance sportswear category COAR.

Developed in partnership with a working group of AFLW players including Melbourne’s Daisy Pearce, Carlton’s Lauren Arnell and the Bulldogs’ Aasta O’Connor, the COAR apparel has been created by women for women, with the fit specifically designed to complement the female form and enhance player performance.

“It’s really important that when you step onto the field you feel ready, and feel confident,” O’Connor told westernbulldogs.com.au.

“Getting to work with the Cotton On Group was really exciting, we went down to their factory in Geelong and spoke with their design team

“Just the little differences (to the men’s uniform), subtle elements that we’ve been able to put into the uniforms I think are going to make a difference to the playing outcome.”

Bulldogs marquee forward Katie Brennan said that the unveiling of the new uniforms had only enhanced her eagerness to get out on the field for the inaugural 2017 AFLW season.

“Amazing colours, they fit really well, super comfortable,” Brennan told westernbulldogs.com.au

“Us Bulldogs girls are really, really happy with everything.”

“Now we have all of our teammates, and to have an official uniform as well makes it all start to feel more real.”

“I’m really looking forward to starting preseason, and getting into it.”
