Tom Liberatore has been named in the final squad for Saturday’s intra club match, his first competitive hit out since rupturing his ACL during the Club’s first NAB Challenge match in 2015.
Assistant Coach Steven King told the Herald Sun on Friday that while losing Liberatore to a knee injury was a hefty blow for both player and Club at the time, it’s given other players an opportunity to spend quality time playing through the middle of the ground.
“We’re in the fortunate position now where we’ve added experience and depth to our midfield and now we get a best-and-fairest winner back,” King said.
“We know how much he loves the game and loves competing so he’s going to be fantastic for us.
“Since he joined in for pre-season in November you could tell he was hungry and he hasn’t missed a beat with his rehab.”
Bulldogs fans will get the opportunity to see new recruits Matthew Suckling and Jed Adcock in Bulldogs colours for the first time, as well as 2015 draftees Josh Dunkley, Luke Goetz, Marcus Adams, Bradley Lynch and Bailey Williams.
