Western Bulldogs draftee Tom Hill was wearing a GWS Giants jumper as last night's Draft began, but he is more than happy to swap it for the Red, White and Blue.

Taken at Pick 89 by the Bulldogs, Hill says the news is still sinking in.

"I was picked up in January on a two year contract by GWS pending the Draft, but obviously now I am heading to the Bulldogs and I am wrapt!

"It has been a bit of a whirlwind.  I was part of the first training session for the Giants last night, which did not finish until around 7pm.  Then I got a call from my manager a couple of hours later with the news, I feel very humbled but stoked at the same time," he said.

Originally a Saints supporter, Hill cannot wait to learn under the guidance of Bulldogs big man Barry Hall

"I cant wait to learn as much as I can off him over the next couple of years," he said.

And the tall forward says that he cannot wait to sink his teeth into the pre season and his goal is to prove himself on the track.

"Just to get some consistency in my training and the ability to play week in and week out.  I look forward to settling in early and making a good impression with my training," he said.

Originally from Northcote and the Northern Knights, the 200 cm, 19 year old has been likened to Adelaide Crow Kurt Tippett.

"I guess its humbling, if I can reach the levels that Kurt is at it would be terrific. I have a lot of work to get to where he is but I look forward to the challenge," he said.
