The Western Bulldogs’ three nominees for the AFL Players’ Association MVP awards were announced today ahead of the ceremony on Tuesday, September 13.
Marcus Bontempelli, Dale Morris and Lachie Hunter were the three nominated by their teammates for the Leigh Matthews Trophy, while Marcus Adams is in line for Best First Year Player.
Morris has also been nominated for Most Courageous and Bob Murphy for Best Captain having won the award in 2015.
The nomination for the MVP Award is a two-stage process.
The first involves players nominating three teammates for the award, before three nominees from every club are presented to the wider playing group for a vote to decide the winner.
Players cannot vote for their own teammates in stage two of the process.
Luke Darcy was the last Bulldog to win the award, back in 2002.
