Luke Dahlhaus has backed his midfield to continue their solid form in tomorrow night’s clash against the in-form Crows at Etihad Stadium.
Speaking to Mark Bickley and Stephen Rowe on Adelaide’s FiveAA radio, Dahlhaus said having depth in the middle of the ground was essential in the modern game.
“You speak to any midfielder and [they] know how hard it is, and the work rate you have to bring, Dahlhaus said.
“It’s so we’ve got energy in the midfield and so we can run out games more.
“To have that versatility is something Bevo (Luke Beveridge) loves and it’s something he’s brought into the Club and it works quite well, so we’ll probably keep doing it.
Dahlhaus is averaging 5.2 clearances per contest in 2016, second at the Club behind Mitch Wallis’s 5.5, the 23-year-old telling Bickley and Rowe that he’s relishing the opportunity to spend more time in the thick of the action.
“I’ve spent a bit of time with the midfield coaches Steven King and Joel Corey, just trying to get better at being in the midfield.
“I played probably five years straight as just a small forward, and that transition, it can be a bit difficult at times, but the hard work I’ve put in over the preseason is starting to come out in games.”
