First-year defender Marcus Adams has had surgery today on a fractured finger and is expected to miss this Sunday’s match against Melbourne at the MGG.
Speaking to westernbulldogs.com.au on Tuesday afternoon, Football Manager Graham Lowe said that the Club will provide an update on Adams’ return in due course, but he doesn’t expect that he’ll miss a lot of time.
“Marcus has sustained a minor fracture to one of his fingers which requires surgical intervention, so he’s having that today (Tuesday),” he said.
“Following that surgery we’ll provide an update in terms of time lines, but we certainly don’t see him having a significant amount of time out of the game.”
Koby Stevens is a chance to return to the field against Melbourne on the weekend as he continues to recover from and abdominal strain that caused him to miss the weekend’s match.
“He’s come in well this week and he’s got training he’ll have to get through before we can confirm his availability for this weekend,” Lowe said.
Tom Boyd’s return to football is one step closer as he recovers from a shoulder injury suffered against the Brisbane Lions in Round five.
“Tom Boyd is making further progress in terms of strengthening around the shoulder, so there’s still some landmarks that he needs to achieve from that perspective.
“But he’s making great progress and he’ll continue to train this week and we’ll make decisions over his timelines over the coming days.”
