It was quintessential Liam Picken, and it’s earned him a nomination for the round five Woolworths Mark of the Year.

With a tick under 11 minutes to play in the third quarter of Saturday’s runaway win over Brisbane, Luke Dahlhaus hacks a ball out of a pack of players looking to get the Dogs out of trouble.

After trailing by as much as 37 points in the second quarter, the Bulldogs were suddenly within seven and every possession counted. 

As the Dahlhaus ball climbs higher and higher, Brisbane’s Daniel McStay and Liam Picken would be the first on the scene and either a heavy clash of bodies or a spectacular mark would be the outcome.   In the end, it was Liam Picken who got a fraction higher and brought down the mark.
