The Western Bulldogs have secured a first-round draft pick as part of a three way trade involving Essendon and Carlton in exchange for forward Jake Stringer.
Stringer exits VU Whitten Oval after five seasons and 89 games for the Dogs.
The Dogs will now enter next month’s NAB AFL Draft armed with two picks in the first round (9 and 16), a second round selection (25) and pick 40.
The complicated three way deal trade involves the Bulldogs receiving picks 25 and 30 from Essendon, before on-trading pick 28, 30 and a future second rounder to the Blues.
The Bulldogs then receive picks 16 and 40 from Carlton.
