The Western Bulldogs have secured versatile utility Hayden Crozier after a deal was reached with Fremantle Football Club today.
23-year-old Crozier joins the club after six seasons at Fremantle.
In exchange for Crozier, Fremantle will receive picks 40 and 82. The Western Bulldogs also secured Fremantle’s future fourth round pick as part of the deal.
The versatile Victorian played 69 games for Fremantle, he kicked 13 goals from 19 matches this season.
Speaking to westernbulldogs.com.au, Bulldogs List Manager Jason McCartney said Crozier’s athleticism allows him to play at both ends of the ground.
“Hayden’s got a great athletic profile, which will allow us the flexibility to play him back, forward or wing, with his aerial game a particular strength," he said.
“We see him primarily at half back which, with the retirements of Bob Murphy and Matthew Boyd this season, will help our defence transition in 2018 and beyond.
“It’s a great result, securing Fremantle’s future fourth round pick enables us flexibility around draft value index points in the future.”
The former Eastern Ranges player debuted in Round 10 2012 against Adelaide after being taken with the 20th pick of the 2011 NAB AFL Draft.
