Former Collingwood forward Travis Cloke made a promising start to his stint at the Bulldogs, booting five goals from his first four games, which included an influential display against Sydney in Round 2, where he gathered 18 disposals, took seven marks and kicked three goals.
In round 4, Cloke broke his ribs and was sidelined for five weeks. He was recalled in Round 9 and went on to play 10 games for the season.
It was revealed in June that Cloke would take an indefinite break from football due to mental health issues.
After a stint in the VFL, he returned to senior football in Round 19 against Essendon.
Stat that mattered:
Cloke was ranked second in goal assists per game across the AFL competition.
What they said:
"It was an interesting season that's for sure. To start off as well as we did and then personally to get injured and miss the mid part of the year (was disappointing).
"Then obviously to step forward and admit that I was struggling with a few things and to take some time away, it was nice to see the love and care of the football community and the football club. To string some games together at the back end of the year was great."
