Western Bulldogs AFLW coach Paul Groves says he’ll bring some fun to the track this week as he looks to turnaround his side’s 25-point loss to Adelaide at VU Whitten Oval last night.

The Dogs fell to a clinical Crows outfit despite getting their hands on the football 20 more times than the visitors and matching them for scoring shots.

With a must win match against Melbourne looming next weekend, Groves told media post-match that he’ll focus on keeping spirits high at the Kennel.  

“[We’ll] try to bring a little bit of fun back into it, nobody likes losing, he said. 

“We’ll do a few little things to make sure we having fun, enjoying it as a group and then really focus on controlling what we can control and our performance next week against Melbourne.

“I said it last week, next week is a big game but in a seven week season every week is a big game.”

Eleven points down at the main break, the Dogs kicked the first goal of the second half to grab some momentum, but Adelaide would respond with three-straight to put the match out of reach.

Groves said it was the little things that made the difference on the night.

“I think the opposition this week were just outstanding. 

“There pressure was amazing and it just shows that if you’re off at all in this comp, you’re going to get beaten.

“We just need to work on finishing it off, finishing that work off and probably going back to fundamentals a little bit.”
