Beginning his career with Melbourne in 1989, Luke Beveridge transferred to the Western Oval at the end of the 1992 season.
In his debut season with the Dees, Beveridge won the best first year player award.
He went on to play 42 games over four seasons before being traded to Footscray for pick 122 (which the Demons used on Damien Munt) in the 1992 AFL Draft.

Beveridge managed 31 games in three seasons for Footscray and kicked 29 goals, playing as a rover/forward.
Despite finishing his playing career with St Kilda in 1999, Beveridge once again found his way back to the Dogs, signing as the Club’s Senior Coach at the end of 2014.
Just two years later, he led the Club to a drought-breaking premiership.
Beveridge will enter his fifth season as coach of the Bulldogs in 2019.
